Reframing Networking — Event for BUILD students!

Please join the DPC for a BUILD-wide virtual networking event on Friday, Oct. 8 at 11:30am–12:45pm PT / 2:30-3:45pm ET.

"Reframing Networking: Building strong professional relationships as a scientist" explores networking as much more than "selling yourself" or giving your "elevator pitch." By presenting networking as a way to connect with mentors and allies in your field, this event will help attendees see networking as a meaningful activity.

This interactive event will include:

  • Opportunity to connect with BUILD students across the 10 BUILD programs
  • Inspiring personal story from Dr. Farah Alibay, Systems Engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL)
  • 20-min small group discussions (BUILD students with facilitator) in a safe environment
  • Panel of BUILD Alumni from across the consortium who are advancing in their research careers
  • Resources on networking from the National Research Mentoring Network
  • Opportunity to strengthen your networking skills in advance of the SACNAS & ABRCMS conferences

*This event is ONLY open to current or past BUILD students. Registration has been sent to students via email.
