At MSU, our ASCEND Scholars are winning awards and honors in many areas.

ASCEND PowerLIVE Award Recipients
The PowerLIVE Award Ceremony is an annual event hosted by MSU's Academic Enrichment Program, which recognizes students living in Morgan State University residence halls who have received the highest GPAs. This year, ASCEND Scholars Jada Boyd (Physical Education major, Junior) and Jade Talmadge (Nursing major, Junior) were honored for receiving a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher from the Living Learning Community.

ASCEND's Resident Poet/Scholar
Joy Barnes, a sophomore Biology major at MSU, is not only a dedicated young scientist but also has a talent for poetry. Joy won runner-up in a recent competition for City of Baltimore Poet Laureate. She will join the winner (another Morgan student and English major) as an ambassador for a local poetry tour in Baltimore. We are so proud of our ASCEND resident poet!
