Comings

Please help us welcome the following people to the NIH/NIGMS Biomedical Diversity Program Consortium!

Robert Rivers, PhD from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) will serve as the project scientist for UMBC.  Dr. Rivers is a program director in the Office of Minority Health Research Coordination (OMHRC) and also leads both the Short-Term Research Experience Program for Underrepresented Persons (STEP-UP) and the NIH-National Medical Association Travel Award Program.  The entire Consortium extend a warm welcome to Dr. Rivers.

Diane Adger-Johnson will serve as the new project scientist for CSUN in addition to her role as project scientist for Xavier.

Michael J. Nanna, PhD from Wayne State University as the Associate Director of Data Management for ReBUILDetroit

Goretti Gonzalez from the Coordination & Evaluation Center as our administrative and communication specialist

Tony Brual from Xavier University of Louisiana as the Senior Program Manager

Amy Bilizon from Xavier University of Louisiana as the Student Training and Enrichment Core Program Manager

Melanie Steen-Sighinolfi from Xavier University of Louisiana as Institutional Development Core Program Manager

Christa Reynolds from the NIH/NIGMS TWD office as the Communications Editor

Goings

Please join us in THANKING the following people for their contributions to the NIH/NIGMS Biomedical Diversity Program Consortium and wishing them well in their next career and/or project endeavors!

Robin Broughton, PhD from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), will be stepping down from her role as the BUILD project scientist for the CSUN and UMBC programs. She has been a tremendous asset to both institutions and the entire consortium. We wish Prof. Broughton well in her new role.

Leah M. Robinson, PhD from Wayne State University

Kendall Eskine, PhD from Xavier University ... BUILD at Xavier is currently recruiting for Kendall's position. Please see posting under the Consortium's Team Updates section!

Jordan McCrary from the Coordination & Evaluation Center will be leaving UCLA to pursue project management certification.
