Dr. Fouad leads the NRMN effort at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, in collaboration with NRMN's Research Resources and Outreach Core (RROC) at Morehouse School of Medicine, and the Professional Development Core (PDC).

The second video in the series, “Tips for Researchers Developing Health Disparities Research Design and Methods” is led by Raegan W. Durant, MD, MPH, associate professor of medicine, UAB Division of Preventive Medicine, and was released on Sept. 1.

The third video, led by Gareth Dutton, Ph.D., is entitled, "How Can We Reduce Obesity through Behavioral Interventions?" and was released on Sept. 15. Dr. Dutton is Associate Professor of Medicine at the UAB Division of Preventive Medicine.

The eight-video series will provide professional development information for junior faculty planning research careers as independent investigators in fields related to community-based health and health disparities. Faculty from UAB and Tuskegee University will discuss various health and health disparities research topics in a lively interview format.

As a partnership of the UAB Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Center (MHRC), the NRMN Professional Development Core (PDC) and the NRMN Research Resources and Outreach Core (RROC), this collaborative effort serves as a follow-up to the Southeast/ Deep South Grantwriting Coaching Group kick-off event at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta that took place in May 2016.

The series of professional development videos targets junior faculty and post-doctoral fellow participants in all of the NRMN Grantwriting Coaching Groups from the national training efforts. The videos will be made available to watch on the NRMN website.
