ReBUILDetroit scholars share how the seven-week Summer Enrichment Program prepared them for their first semester in college.

The Summer Enrichment Program provides training on developing the academic skill set necessary to succeed in college and university, information about the research projects students can engage in during their first year, and enrichment activities to help develop a researcher’s mindset.

Scholars attended lectures in biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics. Additionally, they prepared for the rigors of college by focusing on time management and study skills. Perhaps most importantly, scholars developed a sense of community with their peers, student success coordinators and faculty.

The Summer Enrichment Program concluded with a celebratory closing ceremony on August 12. The ceremony celebrated the commitment of excellence between the institution, faculty and scholar to each other and the ReBUILDetroit program.
